How often do i have an ultrasound?

I had one at 6 weeks, ive had two misscarriages and am going to a high risk doctor. My last visit i did not have one. I have an appt. today and i am 11 weeks. I cant remember if she told me i was getting one or not. Is it normal to have one a 11 weeks?

  • normally you only get one, maybe two. if you are high risk though you'll probably get more. my aunt was going to a high risk dr. (but for different reasons) she got one at almost every appointment with the exception of maybe one or two.

  • It will depend on your particular situation I only had two from my high risk OB. They do more if you are having multiples or other situations. You may only have the one at 20 weeks. If baby is developing fine that may be the only other one you will have.

  • I went to a high risk Dr. but they also did regular pregnancies too. I got one at every appointment.

  • It depends - normal pregnancies typically have 2-3 u/s's. Since you are High risk (like me) they will do u/s's whenever they feel they need to. I have had about 12 this pregnancy.
