What is wrong with Capitalism?

I have heard how it is so evil and the wrong way. How so?

  • People think of greedy business owners when they think of capitalism. Problem is, they don't know how hard those people work (you will never work as hard as when you are working for yourself) and what sort of risk they took to start and run a business. If you risk big, you should be allowed to reap big rewards. Equally, you should be willing to take the lumps when they come as well.

  • What we have used for over 200 yrs.I love capitialism and would not choose another over it.Some gripe because of how people get greedy but the thing is there will ALWAYS be greed and changing from capitialism to another system is not going to stop greed it just may shift it into anothers hands is all.

  • the U.S. IS capitalism! It's what makes us great, and has kept us the strongest country, thus far. It's a shame we have those in office trying to put shame on capitalism and the free market, and trying to "re-make" America...
Those who say they are trying to combat greed, are usually only working out of greed themselves.

  • Even if we were to "level the playing field" and make everyone equal in terms of net worth...human nature dictates that SOMEONE will become a leader, an entrepreneur, an inventor, and/or wealthy, and others will STILL continue to chug along not necessarily rich/wealthy or famous but not being irrelevant or destitute, and even more will just eke out an existence in the hopes that someone holds their hand all the time!

It seems to me those who want so desperately "level the playing field" are the ones who wish they made better choices in life. Those of us who did make wise choices, are happy and have learned how to deal with life's lemons.

As a guy I dated in high school said as his senior yearbook quote: "Life is not a dress rehearsal!" In other words you really need to make the best situation for yourself the FIRST time around! Sure SOME of us can get the opportunity for a "do over" but that shouldn't be expected!

  • We are not a total capitalist or socialist country, and we never have been. As long as we have public school, the government run postal service, state or federally funded universities, and various other government programs, we won't be total capitalist country.

The problem with Capitalism is that the majority if the money is controlled by a tiny, tiny minority of the population. A similar problem exists in absolute Socialism, only this time all the money is controlled by the government.
