how long should you cook COD (fish)???-- in the oven

I made the lil boats where ya put the fish in with some lemon juice and butter but how long should I cook them for?? Thanks!

  • I never pay attention to how long I cook fish, but the rule is to cook it until it easily flakes with a fork.

  • Depends on how thick it is. If they are less than 1/2 inch they will cook very quickly . Usually no more than 8-10 mins per inch of thickness. I do mine in parchment pouches in a 350' oven and usually 10-20 mins depends on thickness. Don't over cook...it will be rubbery. Remember meat continues to cook after the heat is removed.

  • yup! about 10 minutes per inch. I like to broil it but on the middle rack, not the top one.
