How do I defrost a freezer without all of my frozen food spoiling?

Is there a way to defrost the freezer without unplugging the fridge? And without creating a pool of water all over the kitchen floor?

  • Open the freezer door for a little bit. The food will stay cold and then you wont have the mess. It only takes an hour or two depending on the size. Frozen food will take hours to de-thaw in a fridge as well so you can put it in there and leave the door open for a few hours.

  • I got my boyfriend to move the freezer outside with a dolly and we squirted the inside out with a hose..it took like 10 minutes and not only was it defrosted but it was clean...then we dried it out and put the food back in
