  • Not sure how they become low, I am sure there are several reasons, but I know they are what makes your blood clot. So if they are low, then you're blood will not clot properly.

  • Umm... if you get cut, or hit something and get a bruise, and you blood doesn't clot then you'll bleed out!! Not clot as in a blood clot that will cause a stroke!!!

  • didn't your doctor tell you the causetive of having a low platelet count? Diseases, infection, and medications can cause low platelet count. Your doctor should find out the cause and cure it accordingly. In the meanwhile, stay away from aspirn and getting hurt and bleed.

    best luck

  • Are you on any medication or have you been sick recently? Virus or bacteria can cause a change in platelet count. Why did you have the blood work?
