What do I do now?

My son is two weeks old today, and his cord stump came off! It looks like there was a little bleeding, but it's not actively flowing, it just looks sore, but he seems fine. Do I clean it or leave it alone to heal by itself?

  • Swab it with a little alcohol to help to keep it clean and continue drying.

  • Just clean it with some gentle soap and water... and then mostly leave it alone. It's normal to have a tiny bit of bleeding for the next couple of days.
