My son had a dr. appointment yesterday and when I went to check him in, I said to the middle-aged receptionist "Hi, my son has an appointment today." She gave me this weird look and said "Your SON has an appointment? You have a SON? You're not old enough to have a SON.." So I said "I'm 22. My husband over there is 26 and our son is only 9 months" And she said back "You don't LOOK 22". Now had this been said in a complimentary tone I would have just said "thank you" and left it at that. But the way she said it and the fact that she felt that as a pediatric receptionist she had the right to say such things insulted me. So I replied "Well, let's just hope it's still that way when I'M in my middle ages!" It shut her up. But then I thought about it and it was probably kind of rude...Answer Question
