does the father of the child have a right to know before an abortion?

  • I believe morally the mother should tell the father, after all it is half his DNA! No matter who carries it it's still both of yours. Now if he's scum then he won't care if the abortion happens anyways, if he's a great guy that's going to help out with support and everything then I believe a compromise should be reached...such as, if he backs out later on in the pregnancy because he's scared or whatever then the baby goes up for adoption that way the mom isn't stuck doing it alone (eventhough it is totally do-able!) But no matter what kind of man he is he has the right to know!

  • sadlly you don't legally have to...but how sad that the fathers have kids that they never knew they would have because women keep it secret and abort

  • In my opinion he has as much right to know as if the child was born. I think that his input should be taken into consideration on the matter. Furthermore, this should be commuicated to the dad regardless of the relationship or the situation.
