My 7 day old son always strains when he poops, like pushes really hard is this normal?

  • My son did, too. I asked the doctor and he said it was perfectly normal.

  • My son did it from day one....he turns absolutely red when he poops and there is no way that you won't know he is going! But his stools are normal...not hard or anything so for him it is normal...

  • It's completely normal when they are that young because they don't know how to work the internal sphincter, so it may seem like she is constipated but all she is doing is trying to push it pass that area.....
