Stuck in the house with a two year old

I need ideas for something fun to do inside with my two year old. We've been stuck at home for a week and it's raining outside.
He's watching too much TV!

  • Finger paint with pudding, do jello tie die, bake cookies, build a "tent" and have a camp out, make sock puppets, do noodle art, paint with popsicles, do art projects, kids love glue and learning to cut with scissors. Play dress up, hide and seek, make up a silly dance and exercises and play follow the leader.

  • my daughter loves to color and paint. you could lay an old sheet on your kitchen floor and give him some finger paints and paper then just keep an eye and make sure he stays in the kitchen. we play inside soccer too or catch, just use a really soft ball and stay like only 4 -5 feet apart. if you have a mall nearby most of them have play places you could go there or to mcdonalds and get lunch and eat while he plays.

  • Go for a walk in the rain! Neither of you will melt, and you will get to see worms and all sorts of interesting things.

  • I would do obstacle courses for my toddlers at day care when we coudln't go outside. Under a table, around some books, over a toy. Teaches physically and teaches to follow directions. Also, we'd do basics - color, books, free play, songs, simon says or copy cat type games. THings that use energy are key when trapped outside. So if you have a stretch where he can run or jump safely, then set up some bathroom rugs (so they don't move much) have have him jump from one to another or run around and between them.
