the baby is teething and has a stuffy nose. he has a rectal temp of 101.7 is that too high?? we just had his six month checkup yeasterday so i know he does not have an ear infection.

  • Did he get any shots yesterday? That can sometimes boost the temp up. I'd be inclined to call the dr and just ask, generally a nurse can tell you whether to bring him in or maybe give him some infant tylenol to bring the fever down.

  • That temp is too high to be from teething but not high enough for fever medicine.

  • Probably from his shots is why he has a fever give him some tylenol and if the teething is bad baby orajel. But you can get an apple put it in the fridge and then slice it and let him suck and chew on the cold slice cold, sweet, and nutritious.

  • if its a rectal temp, the NORMAL temp for rectal is 100.4 so its not too high for teething,
