When does food actually start to replace bottles?

My daughter is only 7 months old, so I know I have a little while yet. I just want to know when cereal and baby food and actual food start to replace bottles. I think she is supposed to be drinking formula until about a year old( I am pretty sure anyway). I just don't know when I amsupposed to start decreasing the bottles and giving her more food.

  • Gerber has a really good feeding chart online. Let me see if I can find a link. It says how much of what a baby should get at what age.

  • When they start eating table foods, it's expected their formula consumption will drop.

However...there is usually a drop at about 8-9 months, but unless they are taking a lot of table foods, there should not be a dramatic drop.

YOU don't decrease it...follow her lead. She will let you know when you should decrease it.
