  • The World Health Organization recommends breastfeeding for a minimum of 24 months.

Your "man" clearly sees breasts solely as for his sexual use and is disturbed by breastfeeding. He needs to understand that their real purpose is to provide the best nourishment possible for your baby. The two of you must discuss this now, or he will constantly push you towards weaning.

  • take him to the doc with you next time you go in and have to doc explain the benefits. if he won't do that show him an article in a baby magazine or if you have baby books ask him to read the info on bf vs btl. feeding and go from there.

  • Also check out the 101 reasons to Breastfeed on

Then ask him what he can do with a thousand dollars or more....formula is pricey, even if you have WIC (they no longer fulfill all of a formula feeding mom's needs).

  • tell him that he can bottle feed your baby during the night, that will change his mind. its ALOT easier to just pop out the boob instead of getting a clean bottle, filling it wiht water and adding the formula...all while your dead tired.
