is this extream dieting or am i crazy?

a friend of mine doesnt eat for a month and looses crazy amounts of weight she does it every 4 months.....she looks great but isnt it really unhealthy to do. she only drinks liquids the whole time...anyone else do this?

  • nope thats what i thought but she doesnt binge eat or anything after she goes off of it its just a reg healthy diet she used to weigh 189 now she is around 130! i asked how she did it and i was shocked!!

  • That is unhealthy. Her body could go into starvation mode and when she DOES eat, her body will hold onto any fat or calories it can get.

  • Same thing that idiot Oprah did...she gained that weight back PLUS some...if your friend has to keep starving herself once every 4 months, chances are she's putting all the weight back on too.

    Typical laziness...instead of modifying her daily diet, she acts like a glutton for 4 months then starves herself for one. I hope to God she never gets pregnant!

  • Is she only drinking water? I'm not sure how she could make it through a month on only water. Does she drink like Slimfast or Ensure or something with nutrients?

    It's so very unhealthy to do that to your body. Yeah, she may look good now, but she will not be able to keep doing this for the rest of her life. She's gonna end up with some wacked out thing, sickness, illness to her body that noone can fix cuz she screwed up her system.

  • It is very unhealthy. The only healthy way to lose weight is to modify your diet and add in 4-5 days a week of cardio exercise, at least 30 minutes a day. You should lose 1/2 to 1 lb per week to lose at a healthy rate.

  • That is sooo unhealthy and dangerous. You should lose no more than 2 lbs a week unless under doctor's care. She is going to end up very sick.
