  • Over seas adoptions is more pricey then doing it in the states, generally. It depends on what type of adoption you would be considering. If you are considering adopting a child in foster care available for adoption already then you would most likely have the house study and varies by state. Good luck.

  • We also adopted our daughter (she was 2 days old when she came to our home) through the foster care system and the only thing it cost us was $16.50 for the birth certificate. Everything else was paid for.

  • Yes, it is expensive. It does vary from organization to organization. Sometimes you are lucky enough to find a pregnant person who is willing to have you adopt the child and all you need to pay for is her expenses and legal fees. An adoption agency or adoption attorney can help you. Fees should be disclosed up front. Check references ..there are con artists. good luck..hope you are holding a little one real soon.

  • YES!! depends on your state and type of adoption, but start by contacting local adoption agancies asking for price sheets to be sent to you, and then check those agancies with the BBB.
good luck. I'm a domestic adoptive mother , and ours cost about 18K from start to finish. not to mention all the baby gear, and items!

  • Yes!!! my cousin and his wife just adopted and it cost them 35,000.. But in the end it is all worth it, when you get your beautiful child!!!

  • Again, it depends on how you go about it. Adopting through an agency can be more expensive than adopting privately. Adopting overseas can be more expensive than adopting in the United States. We our adopted our daughter privately and only paid court and attorney fees (about $1000, but we had some unforseen legal issues that had to be taken care of) expenses for the birthmother. We are in the process of adopting through foster care and are not yet certain what it will cost us...supposedly next to nothing, but you can never be sure. My advice would be to decide which path is best for your situation and make sure you have an attorney that you trust. Good luck and God bless.

  • foster care system adoptions are the cheapest though, far from the easist. then there are the adoptions within this country, which you will typically pay all te legal fees for and the birth mother's medical bills. these days you need to pay to make certain that the bio father won't show up in a year or two demanding his child. international adoption is very expensive but has the least legal headaches.

  • Adopt from foster care. Don't tear apart a perfectly capable family.
