For sahm's who've been moms for awhile,How much weight have you gained since staying home,truthfully..?

Since not working I have gained 20 pnds and more. There's nothing like being active all day long working at a job.Staying at home, even though I'm working too,to me it's not the same else I'd be skinnier.Frustrated!

  • Yep, I've gained about 20 or more too. I weigh more now than I weighed at 9 months pregnant.

  • Someone said diets don't work on my other question, well I'm a low carber and I know watching my carbs helps me loose weight, gives me more energy,so there's proof it works.I think sahm's need a special diet, but were all different so that would be hard to tell but It should be doccumented anyways.

  • I gained about 50 during pregnancy, lost about 30 of it within a year, and I've been a SAHM for 3 years. My weight fluctuates depending on the seasons. If it's winter, I gain about 15-20 pounds. In the summer, I can lose or gain 10-20 pounds, depending on what I'm doing.

  • I ended up losing some weight. I eat a huge breakfast ie french toast, sausage, eggs, then for lunch a sandwich and chips and for dinner I have a big bowl of rasinbran nut crunch. We live at the beach so now that the weather is nice I can be outside alot with my 2yr old. My key was not to munch during the day. Stick to the 3 meals.

  • I'm 40 & have 4 kids ranging from 5 - 16. My weight has been the same (except for pregnancies) for 18 yrs. Chasing kids & cleaning house are good exercises but unfortunately it is not enough. Have fun with what ever you are doing because stress causes weight to stay!

  • I lost weight (about 8 pounds) when I started working from home. I had more time to plan and prepare heathy meals.

  • I've been a SAHM for 16 years! I have been up and down too many times to count. I have 3 girls all 6 1/2 yrs apart, and it usually takes me 2-3 yrs to finally motivate to lose the pregnancy weight. I've heard of studies done that state being a SAHM can be dangerous to your health, and I truly believe it.
