Do you have a vegetable garden?

I don't know why, but I was thinking about that salmonella tomato scare from last year, I was trying to buy a tomato gate last year and they were sold out everywhere due to people growing their own tomato plants :) This year I have cherry tomatoes, green bell peppers, jalapeno, and strawberry. I love growing my own veggies (and fruit), and it's really fun for the kids to watch them grow and be able to eat them. My jalapeno plant is quite mature too, I had it from last year and it's already putting out craploads of jalapenos. Which is good because I love the spicy.

  • i want to start growning my own produce but every year that ive tried something has gone wrong- first it was the soil then it was bugs eating my collards then it was squirrels digging up wutever i planted- im at my wits end! its a little too late in the season this year so i think next year im going to build a plot to put the plants and then build something to put over them so the squirrels cant get them.....

  • Yes, my mom lives next door, and she has things growing on her side, and I have melons, squash and some fruits on my side. I also have an orange tree, a lime tree and grape vines. I can't wait until the grapes come in! I also got FREE organic lettuce seeds from Earthbound Farms. I think my mom planted those too. :)
