  • No I don't think a mother should be able to have more children if she can't already afford the ones she has. Why put ANOTHER child into a situation where they won't be able to have the things they need. However there is no way to keep a person from having children they can't afford so it is something all of us are just going to have to live with. There are irresponsible people in this world who feel that no matter what they do, there is always something to bail them out.

  • Who decides whether or not she earns enough to provide for them? If you start saying that a woman should not have more children because she doesn't earn enough, what would be the least amount possible to still qualify? And what happens if she loses her job? There are too many variables imo to answer this, which is why it's each woman's personal responsibity to decide whether or not to procreate. Each woman must herself decide whether or not they will be responsible parents.

  • I would take the able out of the sentence. Then I would agree.

  • As in the Octomom. She apparently spends her money inappropriately and is on welfare. Why should others have to support her poor decision making?

  • Be able to: yes - we shouldn't force infertility on anyone.

Choose to when you really can't feed them: no - I think that's an irresponsible choice.

  • But what do you do? The children deserve a decent life even if their mother is odd. And as long as she isn't abusing them, they deserve their mother's love and care. I do not personally agree with her choices, but like I said, what can you do?

  • I think people should have to qualify to have have kids. mentally, physically, and financially.

until then, we should start adding birth control shots into mandatory vaccinations before allowing kids to go to high school and beyond.
