My dog has a tick on his butt hole, how can i get the tick to back out before removing it with tweezers?

the tick has been there for a couple days, i just now noticed it.

    mama, if you don't feel like running your finger around a tick on the dog's butthole, just pick it. You can do that, or the nail polish will back it out because it will smother it... you can also put a gob of vaseline on the bug and cover it with a bandage to hold the goop on for when he sits down... anything that air can't get thru...

    we live out side of town, and our dogs always get ticks, regardless the fact we keep them frontlined, but one tick isn't really anything to freak out over, it's when they have 10, or 300 to worry. If there were more, or if you're really concerned with the placement of it with the skin being so soft and sensitive, you might consider running him in to the vet. Might cost you $10, but will save you the headache.
