6 month old who has just started fighting her sleep

Up until about a week ago everything was fine, then it started, we took her to her pedi he said she had a bacterial virus give it 7-11 days, he also gave something for restlessness. When she begans rubbing her eyes that the signs she is sleepy, so we try rocking which has always worked in the pass, she throws herself straight out and begans crying so we stand up she quits, give her her paci she begans to start screeming and crying, we walk we sway nothing works until she gets so wore out she can't take it anymore, she is wearing her mother and myself out. I hope someone out there has been through this and can help. Thanks

  • She may be teething or having a growth spurt or getting ready for a major developmental change. Nurse her more often, get some Hylands teething tabs; give her a bath with a couple of drops of lavendar oil; mostly, try to be relaxed around her.

Good luck, and let me know how things go.

  • She might want alone time. Sometimes thats all they want. Lay her down and leave the room and let her cry for a little bit. All babies react differently when they are sick and she may just be hot, or feel confined being held and she wants room to breathe, if she cries for more than 20 minutes then get her and calm her down.

  • been there the exact same situation. may sound mean but when u know she is tired put a bottle in her mouth and put her in her crib and let her cry herself to sleep the first week will be the worse after that her body will be used to it and she won't cry anymore.
