  • I've heard 6 weeks but I couldn't wait that long. I did exactly a week after birth. I got bitched at by a lot of people for doing this.

  • it depends on how long it takes for you to feel comfortable doing it...most doctors wont discourage it at all. But id say give it a week or two

  • I was driving within the first two weeks after my c/s. Yeah, it'd be great if I could put my life on hold for 6w, but with two older kids and a life to live I was out and about doing all sorts of things. Though I did take the full 6w on the vaccuming. I had lots of help from my older kids though, they'd help push the grocery cart and carry stuff for me. I mean I was walking up the stairs at home several times every day, I was carrying a growing baby around, driving was nothing.

  • I was told 2 weeks. But, I think I drove before then. I wasn't taking any pain medication, which I think is the "key" thing.

  • i drove 5 days after mine. i was also told not to lift anything over 10 pounds. that was immpossible considering that i nursed my kids & they were all over 10 pound when they were born.
