are hard boiled eggs good for you.....

without the yolk, no salt or pepper, not mayo, just the whites to snack on. I just ate 4 of them.....

    those are my fav. prego snack so far! i make them every other day, and eat them all! well, no i share with my boys. . .but i eat most of them. haha

  • Eggs have gotten a bad rap for years. Even the Dr's that said no more than 3 eggs a week have backed off that. Eggs are excellent sources of protein. Eggs are only 75 cals for an extra large and has 13 essential nutrients in it. Would I eat 4 a day, no...but I certainly wouldn't sweat it.

  • Yes they are fine. Im on nutrisystem and thats one of the protein choices. The plan has us eat both the whites and yolk.

    The white of a large egg, or about 1-1/4 ounces, has 16 calories, 3 g of protein, 2 mg of calcium, 4 mg of phosphorus, 55 mg of sodium, 45 mg of potassium, the weensiest little bit of riboflavin, and no fat, cholesterol, or carbohydrates.

    The yolk of that egg weighs about 2/3 of an ounce, and has 59 calories, 3 g of protein, 5 g of fat (2 of which are saturated), 212 mg of cholesterol, 23 mg of calcium, 81 mg of phosphorus, 7 mg of sodium, 16 mg of potassium, very small amounts of iron, thiamin, and riboflavin, and no carbohydrates.

  • Egg whites shouldn't be a problem. Egg white omelets are also good. But as GrnEyedGrandma said even eggs with the yolks are more accepted now than they were a few years back.

  • Egg yolks are full of good fats, along with the cholesterol. For someone with normal cholesterol levels, there is nothing wrong with an egg a day.

  • Eggs are good for you. There is no food that is really all that bad for you, if you eat it in moderation.
