  • my sister got married on the beach. we made her centerpieces, she bought hurricane vases of diff sizes, we filled them about 1/4 way with sand, put white candles in the center of the sand and around the candles we put seashells. she got the shells at a garden store for about $3 for a 5 lb bag, the vases at walmart for about $3-$7 each depending on the size, and just bought bulk packs of candles. and sand is really cheap too.

  • We had a tropical themed wedding too, we bought the glass bowls at Hobby Lobby filled them with sand, added some shells, then in the center placed a votive candle to match our wedding color, on other tables we used the same glass bowls placed the glass beads at the bottom and had live fish on the table. It was a big hit :) Then guests if they wanted were able to take them home at the end of the night, the kids really liked it too. We had leis for our guest, and had a tiki bar set up for drinks etc. Our wedding was outside, so we were able to do alot. We had over 250 guests and were still able to spend under $2000 for the reception. It did help we did all the food, and had lots of connections for rentals etc... but it was a fairytale :)

  • oh i got it! sry i get excited about weddings. i have planned over 30 between my family and friends but i never had one. take a vace that looks more like a fish bowl and get floating candles and put some flowers in it. also take ribbon and tie it around the top with the colors that you are using for your brides mades. Another thing that you could do is get a tall vace with just one flower coming out of it and put a fish in the vace...then so you dont have to take all of the fish home then have a drawing thing so that one person at each table wins the center pice. we did that with my aunt because every centerpice was 2 dosen red roses. but its hard to give any more ideas without knowing more details hope this helped =) sry bout my spelling...oops

  • Why not just have the centerpeices be pinapples? Possibly with some tropical/Hawaiian flowers circling the base (real or fake). Even out of season, they shouldn't be very pricey...

You could even extend the usage of the centerpeice by having the pinapple served along with the cake (or at any point really). You could have someone go around to slice them or preslice them and have the peices stuck onto the core with toothpicks..just pop off and eat! If you want people to be able to take the centerpeices home they could get the flowers or not use the pinapples.

OR you could go online to a mass supply site such as Oriental Trading and get lots of Hawaiian themed items that could be used as centerpeices...small tiki idols, miniature hula girls, etc....and you are buying in bulk, so many of the items will be less than $1/person and everyone could get something...

I suggest the Oriental Trading site for decorations, etc too!
