  • Buy a craft book or two. most of them use things from around the house that ppl usually throw away. my 9 yr old and 2 1/2 yr old love them. or you could get lil pots and let them grow their own mini garden....scavenger hunts are good too. you can have a nature hunt, laundry hunt, wipe off the dirt hunt.....just be creative. kids usually have fun if you do....good luck.

  • Maybe look into 4-H? I think she should be old enough for Mini 4-H =)

  • Try a summer camp at your local YMCA or park district.

  • Try seeing if there are free movies on Tuesdays for her. Our local movie theatre has Free or $1.00 movies some mornings. Or try the library for Summer rerading programs,.

  • Park districts often have very inexpensive day camps. You can get a couple of other families together and trade child care; you can even hire a high school or college student to take them to the park a couple of times a week. You can turn on the sprinkler and let them run around.
