  • Before tax. It can also mean a grouping of items, for example, the sub-total for the dairy products.

  • OP..... Ok Im trying to figure out how much tax would be on a hotel for vacation if the sub total is $442. Any idea? Its for san antonio so I dont know what the taxes are.

  • I don't know either for San Antonio. When we stay at a hotel in a place we like to visit, there is not only the state tax but a local tax and a tourist tax. :( It comes to 15%. So I'd say you'd probably better round your number off to $500 at least. Call the hotel and ask. :)

  • Hotel tax is higher though... I would just ask the hotel
