potty training my almost two year old?

My little girl is starting to potty train. She'll be two on the 23. She's not afraid of the big potty and we bought an adapter seat for it since she wanted to go for it. Right now our rules include that if she takes her diaper off, she sits on the potty (even if she doesn't actually go) and once she's done she gets a potty treat if she's been good. How do I get her to the point where she tells us she needs to go potty before actually doing so? Any suggestions for advancement. We've had this routine for a while now.

  • keep asking her if she needs to go potty! over and over, i would say every 30 min to an hour... if she has an accident keep reminding her to tell you that she needed to potty! eventually she will get the picture.....good luck!

  • Just keep putting her on the potty over and over. If she went we got all excited and clapped for her and if she did nothing we would just say in a normal voice maybe next time. We also bought DD a book about a little girl going potty. Then after 6 months she regressed really bad because the kids in her daycare all wear diapers still and sometimes the retards put her in a pull up so we started giving her M&Ms.
