When is a good age to indroduce table foods?

My baby is 5 months and is still on Gerber foods. She will be 6 months next week, when is a good time to start?

  • There is no difference between stage 2 and stage 1 except for the size of the jar and more combinations. It's more cost effective to use stage 2, too.

We started offering finger and some table foods at 6 months. If we could mash it between our tongue and the roof of our mouth, they could gum it.

Teeth don't matter since they don't chew with teeth until they get their molars closer to a year.

If you feel she can handle some diced up pieces, go for it! Ours were completely on table foods by 9 months. They were and still are very good eaters! lol

  • I introduced A'Myah to table foods at 6 months. It was mainly things like mashed potatoes, yams, and the like. Once she cut her first two teeth, we move to meats like chicken and fish. That was around seven or eight months.

  • No solids til at least 6 months. No table food til about a year. They don't need it and it's hard on their tummies.
