  • I planned on at least 1 year with child led weaning..... DD weaned herself at 13 months and DS is still going strong at 26 months. I know that freaks many of you out, but it is what it is. I hope he kicks it soon.

  • my goal was 1 year. he self-weaned 3 days after his 1st birthday!

  • I stopped @ 9 months cause he was biteing me, and he was bigger and needed more milk then I could give him. I was proud that I lasted that long.

  • I didn't plan anything, but had so much trouble I stopped after a month and a half.

  • The World Health Organization (doctors who are not influenced by the dairy and formula industries the way American doctors are) recommends breastfeeding for a minimum of 24 months. My daughter weaned herself at 23 months and I was very sad.

  • I planned on going as long as I could. My son stopped at 8 1/2 months.
