Sour smelling poo. Is it ok?

My baby was constipated for almost 2 weeks, so I started feeding him prunes spinach peas carrots and prune juice all the "poo making food". Now its still pretty solid but he isn't so backed up but his poo smells really bad and kind of sour like diarrhea(sp). He is 8 1/2 months. Should I get him checked for intestine problems or is it ok?

  • might be a result of the foods you've been feeding him. If you're still worried and this lasts a few days, make a call to your doc. They may just tell you over the phone that it's nothing to worry about.

  • Nah, just put some Karo(White) syrup in his bottle of milk and that will help to loosen him up and his poop wont smell so sour.

  • It's probably just from the foods that he is eating. You could call the nurse at docs office just to put your mind at ease, that is what they are there for. To help out parents.
