  • Nope. Not at all concerned. I've known from the first reports that this is no worse than any regular strain of influenza and the best way to protect yourself from it is to wash your hands. The media has trumped this up to ridiculous proportions.

  • no , honeslty ever flu strain causes deaths and just like every other year when a new flu virus pops up they will get a vaccination for it , wash your hands , keep things clean , no need to stress about it .

  • Considering I have two children in day care, there is always concern. But, as stated above, all you can do is do the best for your children when they are with you and that means.....washing dirty little hands.....constantly in my case.

  • Nope, no worries.

  • Just that if it gets near here or in this town my kids will wear masks to school since cdc says not to close them. I have 5 kids 2 of which are toddlers and do not need it spreading around in here.

  • I'm concerned in the sense that I hope we don't catch it- I've had the flu and it is rotten. However, I am much less concerned than I was when this outbreak first began because, although cases are rising, the vast vast majority of them are 'just the flu' and the mortality rate is much less than was originally thought. At this point, it's 'just the flu'- which is a relief. The rate of mortality (3 deaths out of approx 3000 reported cases in the US) is very similar to seasonal flu.

  • Not concerned at all! In just about every case I hear about, the person is on their way to recovery before they even realize it WAS swine flu and he/she didn't need to be hospitalized or anything. And only 3 people have died from it. I don't know the stats, but I'm sure more people die from car crashes every day than that.
