14 month old wont stop crying!

i dont know what to do. the dr says "its probably a virus" DUH! ya think?!
and sent us home...they said to bring him back if he gets worse, the only thing thats getting worse is that this child wont stop crying unless hes sleeping and if hes not sleeping then hes crying! im going to lose my mind in about 5 mins. what could be wrong with him other then "oh its probably a virus"?

  • oh ya guess i should mention hes had a fever of 101.3, coughing, sneezing, not eating etc.....but everything seems fine now except for the crying.

  • I'd get a second opinion. Is he normally inconsolable? IMO, it is a bad sign when a child absolutely will not stop crying.

  • Check his gums? His ears? maybe they hurt? Anyway I hope he gets better

  • he got his 1 year molars on top at 9 months old, got the bottom ones a few days ago. dr said his ears look fine. im about to take him to the ER but id hate to sit there forever just to hear "its a virus". cant they ever be more spacific?

  • babies cry when they can't breath through their nose, see if he's stuffed up and try to use the nose sucky thing. have you tried a warm bath with the vapor bubble bath, it always soothed my little one.
