Should a 12y/o be beyond calling his parents "Mommy" and "Daddy" by now?

My SS still calls his parents "Mommy" and "Daddy". Shouldn't he have grown out of this by now?

  • My SD who is FIFTEEN still does it. Makes me want to puke. I think she only does it when she wants something which makes it even worse. I'd MUCH rather her just ask what she wants and be mature about it.

  • I called my mom mommy until i was 14yrs old. I knew it sounded babyish but i didnt care. I was her baby, and i'll always be her baby. She was my mommy, and she'll always be my mommy.

  • I am 49 and still sometimes call my mom mommy. If you do not wish to be called mommy, then tell your son.
