  • yes ma'am, you are expected to gain about a pound a week in the last Month.:)
which doesnt mean that you will need to deliver by c_section.
    gud Luck Mama!!!

  • you are just right on target with weight gain :) dont worry about that. I actually never heard about somebody having c-section because of weight gain. Are you concerned about water retention? - if yes just check how long does it take for your skin to come to normal after being finger punched - if not that long you are safe :)
Congrats you are almost there ! GOOD LUCK

  • I havent seen your second post - in that case call your DR you may indeed have some swelling. Dont worry even if your Dr will want to deliver your baby right away he may propose you induction and vaginal birth.

  • so if i'm gaining a pound a DAY does it mean it could be water retention? and that my baby isn't necesarilly getting bigger?, i'm just concerned she will be chunky and not be able to deliver her naturally

  • Just because you gain a lot of weight doesn't mean you need a c-section!!

First and for most the weight gain your experiencing could be water retention which you can combat with drinking lots of water, exercising and wading your whole body in a swimming pool for 20 minutes a day.

Second gaining weight doesn't mean that your baby is gaining weight. My friend ate HORRIBLY during her pregnancy and gained 90 pounds!!!! her baby was 7 pounds even.

Third...even IF your baby is big that is NO REASON for a c-section and don't let any misinformed doctor or person tell you it is. The reason so many women get sectioned for big babies is because doctors make women deliver on their back in bed which actually makes the pelvis smaller. If your baby is expected to be big INSIST upon delivering in a position tha opens the pelvis more and uses gravity such as hands and knees or squatting.

  • Just because you're gaining weight doesn't necessarily mean it is all going to your baby. I wouldn't worry, just relax. Chances are you won't have to have a c section, but if by some chance you do you and your baby will be just fine!

  • yes there is no other way to gain that much weight in such a short period of time other than fluid retention. Dont worry about your LO size - the DR was measuring your uterus during your regular prenatal visits and would notice if your baby would be significantly bigger based on that measurement :)
