What is the difference between a male and a man?

  • I agree with lbranta. A male is just the scientific way of saying a person with a penis or XY chromosome. This includes boys and men. A man however is a mature male who provides for himself and/or family, is responsible, and respected as well as respectful. Everyone other male in my opinion is still a boy.

  • are you saying that all males are male, but only some are a man? As in a real man takes care of his family, is a good father, cares for other people, helps where he can, that kind of stuff. I think I get what you are trying to say, like the old saying "any man can be a father, it takes someone special to be a daddy".
