Do you ever play "stupid"?

In other words, do you act like you are less knowledgeable in an area than you really are?

  • winkNope because that' not my truth, baby! I'm a talker; so, if I know, you'll know. If I don't know, you'll know that, too. Plus, I like to blind people with my brilliance! Why waste it..?

  • I don't bring up my amazing brain power unprompted but if someone asks me a direct question and I know the answer I'm not going to pretend I don't. There are so many people are offended by intelligence at all.

A couple of months ago a woman on another board admitted that she didn't know anything about the Israel situation and I said I barely knew what was going on and I studied politics in grad school so I really should be better informed. Another poster came on and started ranting about me trying to make myself look better then everyone else. Seriously? I'm making myself look better by admitting that I don't know about something that I really should know about?

  • I am good at word games and my husband isn't, so sometimes I act as though I don't know the answer just so I don't win every single game.

Now strategy games he wins all the time. He is much better than I am at these.
