does anyone know how to get the smell out of word like if it was stored in a basement

i got a tall wood clock at a garage sale i love it but it smells bad...any ideas on what to do....

  • Use a mild detergent, gently scrub and rinse.

  • vinegar should help. i use a mix of 2 parts water, 1 part vinegar, and a bit of washing soda (baking soda works too) in a spray bottle. i use this all over my house, it really helps with odors. but becareful, mold is common in basements and can be very dangerous.

  • they use to sell this wonderful almond oil furniture polish. Maybe call around and see if they still sell it if your not allergic to nuts.
