going from formula to milk

can you tell me what the easiest way to transition switching we tried to give my 11 month old son some milk and he had really bad gas but he liked the milk but by next month he will be a year old and i would appreciate any suggestions to make the swith easier thank you

  • i used to do half milk half water and formula just to get him to start it then i would gradually put more milk in till he was used to it

  • You should do 1 oz of milk in place of an oz of water until you reach the full amount of milk so the baby is still getting the calories from the formula and its a lot more gentle on their little stomachs, it also helps to avoid diarrhea and upset stomachs. If you do half milk and half water with formula then your going to mess up the stomach and have a fussy baby on your hands. I would go 1 oz at a time that way if you notice the diarrhea you can remember how much milk you used and cut it back for a few days.
