  • You may have to wean her but it recommended that you nurse from 1-2 years. If your done just wean her take out one feeding a day slowly and it will be easier. But if shes not done its still fine for her to nurse.

  • It doesn't matter how mcuh cows milk you give her she will still need the nutrition from BM that cows milk can't provide til 12 may have to force her to wean if you are sure thats what you want to do, but if you do that then you need to pump or give formula til 12 months....cows milk is not enough nutrition wise for one theres NO iron in it and giving it before 12 months can cause anemia.

The WHO recommends to nurse for 2 years minimum but if you wanna wean cut out one feeding every few days...
OH and no more than 24 oz of cows milk daily, best if you stick with 16

  • As long as she needs. It's really the healthiest thing for her. There's no need for whole milk but so much to gain from breast milk. So replacing them isn't the best thing for her. Cow milk is actually very hard on children. If she tolerates it, great. But it's only good for a few things (fat, vit D, calcium) that she can get from you and a good diet. When she'll wean is anyone's guess. At this age, she should be nursing frequently. Remember, kids need b-milk or formula for AT LEAST the first year. It's in her best interest to continue as long as possible. Self weaning usually happens between 2-4.

  • Hold off on the wcow's milk. And please don't sweeten it. If she won't take it straight, she's not ready for it and she doesn't really NEED it. Water is fine for hydration becaue the nutrients she needs will be in the foods she eats.

If you want her to wean, drop one feeding per week till gone. If you're indifferent to when she wean.s leave things alone. She'll wean whenever she does. Could be next week, could be next year. (Next year is better.)

  • Did you know that the World Health Organization (unlike American doctors, they are not influenced by the dairy and formula industries) recommends breastfeeding for a minimum of 24 months. A baby this age should be having refined sugar (not before 2) and, unless she is a baby cow, there is no reason to give her cow milk. There are much better sources of calcium:
For good fats, she can have egg yolks, avocado, hummus with olive oil, flax oil, etc.
