  • Make sure your pediatrician agrees. Thin children may turn out to be average in weight in time. You don't want to get them on the road to overeating or eating fattening foods.

  • If your health care provided has expressed concern about their weight, there are many calorie-dense, healthy foods you can give them
    whole grain bread with nutbutter
    avocado
smoothies with nutbutter, fruits, bananas, kale or other greens, soy or other milk
    full fat tofu
    nuts
hummus made with olive or flax oil, with whole wheat pita chips and veggies
    eggs cooked in olive oil

  • Pediasure or Nutripals for the kids and Ensure for you. I would talk to the kids doc first and see what he or she says, They may not be concerned because their height and weight are proportionate. If they are growing steadily and are healthy, I wouldn't worry about it.
