Did anyone's baby have a usual rectal temp of 99-ish?

I have one of those digital thermometers that lights up three different colors. Every time I take my daughter's temperature, it lights up in the yellow for 99.4 degrees or so. That's only about one degree higher than the norm, so I know I shouldn't really be concerned.

Do some people's temps just run higher than average?

  • Internal rectals are higher than usual. Plus moving about just before taking it because of illness or even no illness could raise it just a tad bit more. There no actual pure set in gold normal temp. We all vary some what and can still be normal.

  • My son's temp has always been in the low 99's. He is now 5 1/2 months old. I think he just "runs a little hot" maybe your daughter does too. I wouldn't worry about it. :-)

  • My son has been running a temp of 100.1 degrees, my ped said it was probably teething? I don't know. I'm keeping an eye on it.
