evening primrose oil?

I had a friend tell me to use evening primrose oil to try to induce labor. Does anyone know anything about it? I tried to look it up, and it says great things about reducing blood pressure and it's used a lot for preclampsia, which I have, but it doesn't say how it works for labor.
