I would figure the regular pills would be more expensive because they are suppose to last you a whole month, but if you only take the active pills you will have to pay for them more often.
There are pills that are made so you only get 4 periods a year, if you want to go the pill method.
But something you take the least option is going to cost the least in the long run. Take the Mirena for example. It lasts 5 years and is 589 or so dollars (without insurance) that is about $9 a month and it stops a lot of women's periods after the first three months.
But the big factors to finding the right bc for you is figuring out how long before you want a child and what your health insurance pays for.
