  • They are a Protestant sect of Christianity. They are very strict when it comes to things like dancing, gambling, music. They were abolitionist, a lot of the men and women who worked the underground railroad were Quakers. There more of them in the north eastern states. They are passivatist who are excluded from any drafts. They are also called friends. My father was raised a Quaker. The have meeting houses not churches. I don't know if the sit separated by sexes now, but historically they sat in their meeting separated my sex. I am pretty sure that their faith is a lot about their personal relationship with God. I am not sure, but I don't think they have defined clergy, I think they have elders.

  • 2motherhelpers, the Friends are probably closer to what the first Christians practice then most of the hate filled bible thumpers of today. No Muslims can not be quakers. Quakers read the bible and try to live based on it teachings.
