  • It all depends on how much you weigh now and how healthy you actually eat. Every women is different and you can't just put an exact number on doing just that stuff.

  • While exercise is a great start, in order to maintain a healthy weight, you need to have a healthy lifestyle; this has the added bonus of setting a great example for your kids.
First, drink your water! at least 8 8oz glasses a day. Next, eat your fruits & veggies! 7-8 servings a day, in at least three different colors. Eat your whole grains (loaded with fiber, protein, and lots of energy-giving nutrients), 7 servings a day. Cut way back on (or eliminate) meat & dairy. Add beans, lentils & tofu to your diet. • Anon 4:04, Hey, if this dr. Mcdougall has a healthy plan, why not let others know?

One way to gauge your activity esp. if you aren't going to do exercise that keeps your heart rate up, which burns more calories, is to wear a pedometer. They are relatively inexpensive ($14 is a good one), and make sure that with all the activity you have planned that you are getting 10,000 steps a day. Along with keeping to 1500 calories (good food), you would definitely lose. Don't get less, or your body will believe its in starvation and actually hold on to the fat reserves.

After about a month of just walking tho, I would prob. research a good toning routine. Remember that muscle burns fat faster. Walking is excellent and you can tone your legs by walking briskly, and walking hills, but strolling won't give you enough change that you are hoping for.
