I think that it is spreading because people have gotten casual about cleanliness. Unfortunately the media hyped it so much that when it didn't turn out to be this horrible calamity people assumed it was/is nothing. We need to continue to use common sense measures like you do during the regular flu season. Be aware but don't panic.
