Breastfeeding and Storage...

I have been pumping milk and refrigerated some of it so my question is - is it safe to take the milk from the refrigerator and store it in the freezer so it may last longer?

  • I don't see why not can't see how it would hurt unless the milk was already expired

  • As long as the milk is not expired, yes you can transfer from the fridge to the freezer.

  • Yep you can freeze it as long as it is still good. I recommend not using the bags because once you pull it out of the freezer it goes bad fast!! I use evenflo plastic containers(bought them at walmart.com) they look like little jars I love them!! They hold perfect portions and I just throw them in the dishwasher and they come clean so easily.

  • I wouldn't freeze milk that has been in the fridge longer than 24 hours.
