It is hot and the kids have 2 days of school left. Any ideas on things for them to do?

I know the twins, 8yrs, are not tweens yet but my oldest daughter is 10. There is only 2 days of school left and they get "wild" as it is during the school year. I need ideas that do not cost a lot to keep them occupied. Any ideas?

  • Create a relay race for them, create a treasure hunt, buy some bubbles, play hide-and-seek with them outside, take them to the park, take them on a little picnic.

  • Make popsicles! Just get some plastic ice trays, their favorite juice, and any kind of bite-sized fruit or gummy candy. Put the fruit or gummy in the ice trays, pour in the juice, cover them with plastic wrap, and poke toothpicks through the wrap into the individual cubes. Freeze for a few hours, and you've got a nifty snack that's fun to make and they're way better than sugary freezer pops.

  • Load them up with sunscreen, waterballoons a sprinkler and send them outside to wear themselves out.
