  • I stopped at 5 months. It was only because I had my wisdom teeth out so, with all of the muscle relaxers and pain killers I had to take, I didn't want to give it to him. I also had to "sleep it off" for almost 3 days.

  • There is no limit on the time to breastfeed. You can (and should) bf as long as you and your baby are still happy to do so.
The AAP recommends bf for a MINIMUM of one year, and the WHO recommends a MINIMUM of 2 years. By that, they mean you should nurse longer than that, not that you should wean when you get to that time.
I would suggest attending a local LLL meeting. La Leche League is free to moms (you can bring your baby), and it's fun! You can talk to other moms that have the same questions about bfing, and you will feel right at home with them!

  • almost 9 months and still at it... I was planning on weening him around this time but I'm just not ready to do so. I love the bonding I feel when he's latched on, looking me in the eye, and playing with my hair or face. I guess I'll let him choose when to quit (as long as he does it before he turns 2 lol)
