child support question

If the father pays his child support weekly to the state, and the state reissues payment to the mother, do they do it weekly also, or monthly? And if the father sends $100.00 per week, do they send the mother $100.00 or do they hold out for something? How do they determine how much the father should pay?

  • as soon as the CS office recieves payment they mail a check to the mom. My child support comes from almost across the entire country and I get it 4-6 days after he pays the payment.

  • It usually based off of income as to how much the father will ahveto pay. If they take it out weekly they usually send it weekly, just like if they took it out bi weekly, monthly or twice a month. The only time they hold anything is the tax return. If he owes back child support then they will keep his tax return if he goets one for up to 6 months. Also if you got TNAF or medicaid then they will keep the taz return to pay the state back & you will not see it.

  • Child support is based on an income guide. It varies by state. The payment gets sent to the mom after they recieve it usually within days. They dont keep any of it unless the mom is getting welfare.

  • The money is deducted from the check on the day that the check is issued. The employer has one week to mail the check to the child support office; depending on the distance and quality of mail service, this can be from 1 to 7 days. Once the child support receives the employer's check, the money is mailed to you. The amount deducted from the check is based on a court order that is mailed to the employer.
