What do contractions feel like?

IM 29 weeks pregnant and i keep on getting pains in my abdomen. They are heavy and tight and they don't last very long. But they are coming and going.

They're also making me feel sick. I guess i would probably know if i am having contractions. But im honestly unsure. Can anyone enlighten me?

  • Braxton hicks to me felt like period like cramping. My tummy would get super tight and then back to normal, super tight, then back to normal, over and over. They did not follow a pattern. Sometimes my tummy would feel so tight it'd take my breath away.

Key to remember if they are braxton hicks they will not follow a pattern and not increase with intensity. They will lighten up when you shift positions and/or empty your bladder. Be sure you drink lots of water!
